Anti-static bubble wrap allows the protection of devices from shocks, abrasions and blows and the shielding of products from electrostatic charges, dust and moisture. It is critical in order to prevent charging of a device from an external electrostatic field or contact with a charged body, since rubbing to the packing material represents a true charge generator. The antistatic agents contained in polyethylene can be internal and external.
Internal antistatic agents provide the antistatic property regardless of the humidity of the atmosphere, while external antistatic agents are applied to the surface but have a shortened service life. The anti-static bubble wrap is lightweight and durable, provides maximum strength and is colored pink. It is frequently used in the electronics industry, where the phenomenon occurs more often and could damage the packed object with electrostatic charges.
